We have tried almost everything under the sun it seems. What works for one will not work for all. Singing Dancing--especially big up and down bends(it has the added bonus of working leg muscles) Blowing in their face or hair Blubbering tummies, toes, cheeks--anything to start them laughing or distracting enough to forget why they were crying Little older children 18 months and older--We started crying/screaming with as pitiful of face as possible. Usually the child is so surprised they stop. But don't use this too often because it only will work if done occasionally. I have more but those are the only ones we have used most recently.
Both of our boys had "cloic". (Specifically under the age of 1)They would cry and cry for hours everyday. They also had a constant diaper rash. We eventually found out with my first son that he was allergic to milk. So with the second son, when the same symptoms occured I stopped taking in milk (I nursed both sons) and that helped dramaically! They are still both allergic to milk (ages 6 and 3).
The real religion of the world comes from women much more than from men-from mothers most of all, who carry the key of our souls in their bosoms. -Oliver Wendell Holmes
A man loves his sweetheart the most, his wife the best, but his mother the longest. -Irish proverb
A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie. -Tenneva Jordan
A mother understands what a child does not say. -Jewish proverb
When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child. -Sophia Loren
Who we are. . .
We're a group of mothers who are committed to our families. We know firsthand not only the strain and struggles, but also the pure joy and rewards of being mothers.
This blog is to support each other through the swings of motherhood, AND the necessities of womanhood that sometimes get pushed aside. It was inspired by a talk given in April 2008 at a conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints entitled "Daughters of God" (see link below). It is a wonderful talk that all mothers, regardless of denomination, can use as a resource to strengthen themselves and their families.

Ok, that is hilarious about making a pitiful face. . .Although, the best thing to stop my 2 and 4 year olds is to put myself in time out.
